World Turtle Day Comes Out of Its Shell in Twinsburg

Sun 5/20 @ 12-3PM

World Turtle Day is celebrated annually on May 23, but the Summit County Metroparks are going to be quick and do it on May 20 — just in case there are any hares trying to beat it to the finish line.

Summit Metroparks naturalists will host live turtles and tortoises in a presentation sponsored by American Tortoise Rescue, and children will get to participate in turtle-related games and activities, all with the goal of raising awareness of these amazing reptiles, of which seven species live in the Summit Country parks. Not to mention the ones dwelling in the sewers easting pizza and learning martial arts from Splinter the Rat.

(Almost got through the whole write-up without a dumb Ninja Turtles joke. Maybe next year it’ll be a hundred percent.)

Admission is free and open to all.
