A few weeks ago, we shared some background about Tremont’s Sign Guy, Dave Steckle. Our writer Nicole Hennessy hung out and learned more about the artist who became a sort of local legend when his wooden signs started appearing, first in Tremont, then in other neighborhoods, on utility poles, garbage cans and fences.

He’s expanded his reach to sell his quirky cartoonist signs at art fairs, and now he’ll be showing his work in a gallery. Appropriately, it’s in Tremont and appropriately, it’s the quirky Doubting Thomas gallery which shows everything from some of the area’s most respected professional artists to the work of people who appear to have made their first art piece that day.

The show is called Conspiracies, and opens during the May Walkabout Tremont.
