If you’re a vegetarian or vegan, or if you are just interested in a healthier life style, Vegfest was the place to be last weekend. The event has grown by leaps and bounds since it was founded by the Cleveland Vegan Society five years ago, and this year, it moved into an even larger exhibition space at the downtown convention center.
There was plenty of vegan food, of course, along with booths offering herbal body products, organic snacks and teas, compost, massages and clothing, promoting environmental causes, and showcasing adoptable animals from rescues and shelters. Cleveland’s original vegan — since 1995! — former congressman Dennis Kucinich was in attendance with his wife Elizabeth.
