It’s a melodrama with everything: crime, a scheming anti-heroine, innocent children, political corruption, even Hollywood. The recent royal wedding? No, it’s The Baby Thief, the first book from freelance writer Barabara Bisantz Raymond.

The author will be there in person to reveal the “untold story” of Georgia Tann, once hailed in the media for selflessly arranging adoptions out of her self-managed foundlings home in Memphis. But she was actually an illegal baby broker, stealing and selling children, and protected by a local-government kingpin. More than 5,000 children from poor backgrounds wound up with falsified adoption files and a legacy of pain spanning generations.

Books will be available for sale and signing. Admission is free.
