MOCA Hosts Reception and Panel on Anthology Responding to Trump’s Vision of American

Wed 6/6 @ 6:30PM

The anthology, It Occurs To Me That I Am America: New Stories and Art, is a compilation of short stories and artworks by noted authors and artists such as Alice Walker, Neil Gaiman, Mary Higgins Clark, Eric Fischl and Joyce Carol Oates. Published in January, on the one-year anniversary of the Trump inaugural and the Women’s March, it’s a response to that with the contributors sharing their ideas of a “fair, free and compassionate democracy,” at odds with what Trump is projecting.

Editor Jonathan Santlofer will be at MOCA Cleveland to moderate a conversation with author Angela Flournoy and Cleveland-born artist Susan Crile, in an event presented in collaboration with the ACLU.

There’s a reception at 6:30pm, followed by the talk at 7pm and a book signing following the talk. (Books will be available for purchase in the MOCA gift shop). It’s free and open to all.
