Michigan Folk Trio the Accidentals Is Back in NE Ohio at the Kent Stage

Sat 5/12 @ 8PM

The Accidentals, a trio out of Traverse City, Michigan, play an approachable blend of roots/folk/indie music styles, wrapped up in energetic rock. The young band was formed in 2012 by vioinist Savannah Buist and cellist Katie Larson who met while they were playing in their high school orchestra. They released their debut album that same year. They followed it with 2013’s Bittersweet and an EP in 2016. The eclectic band now includes drummer/percussionist Michael Dause.

Now there’s an addition to their catalog, an album called Odyssey, co-produced by the three band members at Asheville, North Carolina’s Echo Mountain Recording. They were given support by a variety of special guests including acoustic guitar virtuosa Kaki King, Keller Williams, bassist Dominic John Davis (Jack White, Beck), Carbon Leaf guitarist Carter Gravatt and Jenny Conlee of the Decemberists.

Guitarist/keyboardist Jake Allen joins them on the road; their latest tour brings them to the Kent Stage this week. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. And we love Savannah’s cat socks!
