Get Up Close and Personal With Local Artists at the Akron Art Museum

“Replacements” by Matthew Kolodziej

Thu 5/17 @ 6:15-8PM

The Akron Art Museum is committed to displaying work by artists currently working in its own regional backyard — both established artists and promising up-and-comers. Dragana Crnjak, Andrea Joki and Matthew Kolodziej, whose work is featured in the current show Frameworks, are in the latter category, while Jerry Birchfield, whose solo show Asleep in the Dust is also on display is in the former.

One of the pluses of showing the work of local, living artists is that museum visitors can actually meet and talk to them and learn directly from them about their practices and what inspires them.

All four of these artists will be in the galleries to talk briefly about their work and hang out to answer questions and have conversations afterwards.
