Book on Cleveland’s LGBT History Released With Party at Jukebox in Ohio City

Wed 5/30 @ 7-10PM

Arcadia Publishing, which puts out photo-based books of local and regional interest on a variety of topics across the country, has released such books as Hockey in Cleveland, Cleveland’s Department Stories and Cleveland’s Slavic Village.

Now it’s releasing a new one, called LGBTQ Cleveland: Images of Modern America, a full-color coffeetable book with more than 150 images. It was put together by local college professor/comedian/author/burlesque emcee Ken Schneck.

“This is without question the hardest project on which I have ever worked but also without question the most important/rewarding work of my life to date,” says Schneck.

He’ll be hosting a party to mark the release at Jukebox Cleveland in Ohio City’s Hingetown neighborhood. A portion of the proceeds of each book sold there that evening will go to the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland, now in Gordon Square. But he shares that Jukebox is the site of its predecessor, the Gay and Lesbian Center.

The event is free and open to all.
