BlueWater Orchestra and Cleveland Chamber Choir Bring “Vocal Verve” to the East and West Sides

Sat 5/19 @ 7:30PM

Sun 5/20 @ 3PM

Two more classical music series end their seasons this weekend, and they do so in collaboration.

BlueWater Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Chamber Choir join forces for “Vocal Verve.” The centerpiece of the two performances is J.S. Bach’s eleven-movement Ascension Oratorio, which debuted in 1735. They’ll also include John Corigliano’s 1960 cantata Fern Hill, set to a poem by Dylan Thomas, and Ottorino Respighi’s 1917 Ancient Airs and Dance, Suite 1.

Cleveland Chamber Choir artistic director Scott MacPherson conducts the program which takes place on Saturday at Frst Baptist Church in Shaker Heights and on Sunday at Gamble Auditorium in the Kulas Musical Arts Building at Baldwin Wallace University. Tickets are $23.
