Each month, Lakewood’s Art on Madison brings one poet/writer for extended readings in the gallery with Poetry Plus. Organizers really wanted to offer artists a chance to connect directly with audiences, and this month is no exception.
Tonight, Mitch James, semi-native Northeast Ohioan who shares time in two other states, Pennsylvania and Illinois, must like the number three, because he also holds three degrees in English studies. Currently, he teaches at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio.
James’ style is evocative of greats Darren Arnofsky, Cormac McCarthy, Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner, and is considered traditional and experimental.
Admission is free.
