Longtime gourmands may remember a lot of “[insert here] under glass” food events in the Galleria shopping mall in downtown Cleveland. But another pane-ful venue opened in 2015, when the disused and impressively windowed Cleveland Trust Bank rotunda structure was turned the downtown Cleveland Heinen’s supermarket.

Now the ritzy grocery store holds “Grapes Under Glass,” a weekend of international wine and food tastings under the glazed dome. One night spotlights a four-course wine dinner, while others open the sash on vintages from Napa Valley and specific vineyards, plus cognacs, guest speakers from the world of wine and elite tastings. Bottles will, of course, be available for purchase.

It is a co-venture between Heinen’s and the Metropolitan at the 9 hotel, which offers tie-in accommodations. A variety of ticket packages, starting at only $40, can be found at grapes-under-glass.
