Akron Symphony Adds to its Musical Force for Powerful Verdi Requiem

To close its 2017-2018 season, the Akron Symphony Orchestra will bring together a stage full of musicians at E.J. Thomas Hall to perform Giuseppe Verdi’s towering Requiem, which debuted in 1874.

The evening will feature the combined vocal firepower of the Akron Symphony Chorus and the Summit Choral Society Masterworks Chorale, along with soloists soprano Dina Kuznetsova, mezzo-soprano Nancy Maultsby, tenor John Pickle and bass Adam Cioffarri.

Christopher Wilkins directs the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and Marie Bucoy-Calavan directs the Akron Symphony Chorus. At 7pm Wilkins will talk about this masterpiece in a Preview from the Podium.
