Mark Lavengood Returns to Oberlin’s Riverdog Gallery With His Own Band

Sat 3/17 @ 7:30PM

Michigander Mark Lavengood, a Grand Rapids native, is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (with a strong suit in dobro) who has built a reputation and following as a member of Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellies, while also releasing three solo album including We’ve Come Along last spring.

Now he’s ready to go it alone with the Mark Lavengood Band. He’s bringing that band to Oberin’s Riverdog Gallery where he’s performed twice with LLFB.

According to the Riverdog, “Anyone that has witnessed Lavengood perform will attest to these three key attributes: his big heart, wild energy on stage (including the most expressive tongue in the music business) and his aptitude on the many instruments that he plays…especially dobro.”

“Mark will be bringing some of the state’s [Michigan’s] finest bluegrass players along with him,” they add.

Admission is a $15 suggested donation. There will be no food truck for this show but there will be free snacks, and as usual, you may bring your cooler, picnic basket or whatever you want. Doors open at 6pm.

Reserve your spot at riverdogmusic or by calling 440-965-8309.

  1. I am interested in contacting someone from the Riverdog with regard to possibly hiring The SILVER STRING Band to perform there sometime. We are a vocal quartet with Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Double Bass but traditional bluegrass is not our forte. We prefer to play our stye of western swing, jazz, great american songbook musit . We’ve been performing for 38 yrs. mostly around the greater Cleveland area with occasional jaunts from Boston to West Palm, Fla. and think we’re pretty good but a bit biased, I suppose. You’ll have to judge for yourself. Thanks for getting back to me ASAP!! All the best to you!
