Be an Irish Dancing Queen on Sober Seventeenth in Avon Lake

Sat 3/17 @ 5-8PM

Much in the way that First Night celebrations do New Year’s Eve without the drunkenness, so does Sober Seventeenth seek to reclaim St. Patrick’s Day from wretched-excess carousing. In the form of a traditional Irish hooley but liquor-free, this is the fourth annual Sober Seventeenth, a celebration of all things Celtic. It happens at Ahern’s Banquet Center in Avon Lake.

The soiree features Riverdance-style stepdancing by the Burke School of Irish Dance, special children’s fun and a headline performance by James Kilbane, a son of County Mayo whose repertoire runs the gamut from traditional ballads of the Auld Sod to modern Irish pop music.

General admission — including appetizers and non-alcoholic — is $20, with special rates of $15 for seniors and $6 for children 10 and under.
