It’s a Weekend-Long Curiosity Carnival at the Great Lakes Science Center

Sat 2/17-Mon 2/19

In honor of Presidents’ Day, the Great Lakes Science Center has another of its themed weekends. No, it won’t be blowing up mini-Mount Rushmores — the patient and they’re sure to blow up something on the 4th of July.

Instead, the Curiosity Carnival will feature a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations to check out in addition to all the regular exhibits.

Just a sampling: design and construct a wind-powered boat and compete against your family members or friends, or just try to best your own record. Try a “Magnificent Motion” activity to engage with Newton’s laws of motion. Learn about water and its importance to us in a workshop sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District or the chemistry behind color at the BASF Kids’ Lab.

There’s definitely a full day of fun stuff to check out and it’s all included with regular GLSC admission: $16.95 for adults, $13.95 for youth 2-12.
