Fri 2/16 @ 8PM
Akron’s Marc Lee Shannon is best known for playing guitar with Michael Stanley, whose band he’s been in since 1994. He’s also released music on Stanley’s label. But before that he did what so many starry-eyed musicians did: headed for Los Angeles where he went to the Guitar Institute in Hollywood and worked to make connections among the scenesters out there. He spent more than a decade gigging and recording with various artists before coming home.
Shannon will be fronting his own band when he performs at the Akron Civic Theatre as part of its Cabaret @ the Civic series, intimate concerts where the audience is on the stage with the performers. He’ll be joined by opening act the Michael Weber Show, a rock band fronted by 20-year-old Kent State student Weber, which plays classic rock standards and originals in the same style.
Tickets are $20.
