We’re All Gonna Get Lei’ed With Authentic Hawaiian Music at the Music Box

Sun 2/18 @ 7PM

Hawaiian popular music is hard to disentangle from the long shadow of Elvis Presley movies (not to mention Don Ho). Come to the Music Box Supper Club in the Flats for some authentic balmy tunes wafting out of the Pacific islands. In the dead of an Ohio winter no less.

It’s the Masters of Hawaiian Music tour, featuring George Kahumoko Jr., Led Kaapana and Jeff Peterson, virtuosos of the “slack key” style of guitar fretwork and fingering that evokes the Honolulu and Waikiki not overdone with tourist kitsch.

Admission is $28. Alas, we don’t think the surfboard concessions on Lake Erie will be open at this time.
