Geauga Human Society Benefit in Chagrin Falls Helps Animal Rescue in Puerto Rico

Sat 2/24 @ 7-10PM

The Geauga County Humane Society’s Rescue Village is a wonderful place you need to visit with airy, open cat playrooms and dog walking trails in the woods behind it. (Warning: the first time I visited I came home with an unplanned addition to my family).

What’s even more wonderful about these big-hearted, animal-loving folks is that their annual fine art auction and fundraiser, Foot x Foot, Paw x Paw, benefits animals somewhere else: a portion of the proceeds will be hipped to the Vieques Humane Society in Puerto Rico to help them rebuild their hurricane-damaged shelter.

The event, presented by Dr. Julie A. Clayman, features dozens of original art works by artists form around the region, all 12” x 12”. Taking place at Lowe’s Greenhouse, forist and Gift Shop in Chagrin Falls, the tickets include free valet parking, heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer, as well as the chance to bid on the art. It’s $100 in advance, $125 at the door.

This benefit isn’t the only thing Rescue Village has done to help the Puerto Rican rescue dogs. Working with Our Big Fat Caribbean Rescue (OBFCR), it has brought dogs from Vieques to northeast Ohio to be adopted by local dog lovers.
