Folksinger Charlie Mosbrook Celebrates His 50th Birthday with Friends at Nighttown

Sun 2/11 @ 7PM

Not only has Charlie Mosbrook been a mainstay of the area’s folk/singer-songwriter scene for more than 25 years, he’s also been a catalyst for that scene, as the host of numerous open mic nights and a member (and president) of the nonprofit Folknet.

A spinal chord injury eight years ago not only didn’t slow him down, it seemed to inspire a spate of musical creativity. He’s got an impressive catalogue of recordings that draw on contributions from the many relationships he’s forged including his latest, Hear Me Callin’: A Collection of American Folksongs, featuring tunes by such legends as Lead Belly, Robert Johnson and Woody Guthrie.

So when he celebrates his 50th birthday at Nighttown, he’s doing so as “Charlie Mosbrook & Friends.” Fellow acoustic singer/songwriter Matt Harmon opens the evening and also joins Mosbrook on a few tunes. Come on down to see who else shows up; it’s sure to be a jam! Admission is just $10.
