Learn “Stupid Sword Tricks” for the Stage at Ohio Shakespeare Festival Workshop

Mon 1/8 @ 7-8:30PM

One of the skills that every serious aspiring actor acquires in school is swordplay. It’s why they fill fencing classes in colleges. It’s essential if they intend to perform in Shakespeare plays.

The Ohio Shakespeare Festival is offering a monthly series of “fight night” classes, open to the curious general public as well as actors. The 90-minue class, taught by “fight director” Ryan Zarecki, will teach you some of the “stupid sword tricks” you might see onstage, tricks the OSF team picked up at the Winter Wonderland stage combat intensive in Chicago.

It takes place at OSF’s winter home at the Greystone Hall in downtown Akron. It’s $15 at the door, $10 for students under 30 with a valid ID. It’s suitable for those 14 and over.
