A Cleveland Cavaliers Great Is a Tall Order for MLK Day at the Akron Library

Lenny Wilkens in the 70s

Sun 1/14 @ 2PM

In a weekend prelude to Martin Luther King Day, former Cleveland Cavaliers player Lenny Wilkens speaks at the Akron Public Library.

Player-turned-coach Wilkens (he currently ranks second in all-time wins as an NBA coach) received the National Civil Rights Sports Legacy Award. He will deliver a lecture keyed to his philosophy not only as it applies to the basketball courts but to life in the non-sports world, about how to rise up and exceed expectations.

Wilkens’ appearance is co-sponsored by the Eta Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Admission is free.
