It’s a Wonder-Ful World, with Dan Wilson at the BOP STOP

Sat 12/30 @ 8PM

To quote an old Christmas carol, he’ll Wonder as he wanders. Guitar virtuoso (and Hiram College graduate) Dan Wilson presents a special night riffing on the music of Stevie Wonder at the BOP STOP in Ohio City.

Wonder was not named “Little Stevie Wonder” as a gimmick; he was only 10 years old when his performing caught the attention of Ronnie White of the Miracles, who introduced the boy wonder Wonder to Berry Gordy, and the rest was American musical history.

Wilson, himself a frequent performer on the local and national scene, released his debut album in 2012. He has his roots in gospel but has explored jazz improvisation and many other stylings. He and a quartet of vocalists will render Wonder’s songs (in the key of life, you might say), backed by Dave Throckmorton’s percussion and Cliff Barnes on the keyboard.

Admission is $20.
