Raise a (Non-Alcoholic) Glass to Family-Friendly First Night Akron

Sun 12/31 @ 6PM-midnight

First Night Akron is Akron’s New Year’s Eve community celebration, featuring music, art and fun in a non-drinking, family-friendly milieu.

The “First Night” concept was actually started nationwide to try and turn cities onto the outlandish thought that New Year’s Eve didn’t have to translate into drunken stupidity, mayhem and shots fired (that there is no First Night New York City ought to tell you something). That First Night was warmly embraced in Summit County does the place credit.

The 22nd annual First Night Akron has more than 40 different experiences in different venues (including the John S. Knight Center and the Akron Art Museum), plus strolling performers, living statues, dances, ice sculptures and carriage rides.

Admission is via $10 badges purchased in advance at participating locations, including Acme Fresh grocery stores. Children 9 and under are admitted free with a First Night Akron- button-wearing adult.
