Blue Sky Folk Festival Invites You to Join In

Sat 9/16 @ noon-7:30PM

How do you know the 7th annual Blue Sky Folk Festival is a participatory event? You get $3 off the admission price if you bring your instrument!

So while you are welcome to come and listen to all the talented, mostly regional performers who play folk, blues, bluegrass, swing, jazz, gospel, country and more, there will also be plenty of opportunities for musicians, beginners and professionals alike, jam and pick up a few licks to take home.

There will be activities indoors and out at the East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirtland, including several stages of music. There’ll be master classes, jam sessions and workshops in topics like hammered dulcimer, Irish fiddle, clawhammer banjo and songwriting (24 in all, as well as pop-up jam sessions that could happen anywhere), a playground, crafts and music activities for kids, and plenty of food available, including vegetarian and vegan selections.

Among the performers are Paul Kovac, Bill Lestock, Ron Bonkowski, Scott Pearson, Drew Bonnis, Hot Djang, Matt Watroba, Family Dog and Dan Bankhurst — a roster of some of the most gifted and experienced musicians around.

Admission is $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free — and they get to jam too!
