The Lorain County Fair Outshines the Sun (No Kidding, for a Little While, It Really Does)

Mon 8/21-Sat 8/26 @ 8AM-11PM

Sun 8/27 @ 8AM-6PM

The opening day of the Lorain County Fair coincides with a total eclipse across much of North America. We can see the promotional opportunities right now: “Listen, all of you! Come to our fair…And we’ll bring back the sun!”

Now in its 172nd year, the 2017 Lorain County Fair includes an opening-night concert by the great Kenny Loggins (followed by fireworks), country star Dustin Lynch, truck derbies and truck pulls, dancing, competitive dog acrobatics, and shows that recreate the Rat Pack and the rock and roll British Invasion.

In addition there are the traditional ribbon judgings in countless categories, plus a cat show, a rabbit show, a carnival midway, plus thrill rides (firing up around the noon hour).

General admission is $5 (free for children 8 and under, and military with valid ID), with special rates for ticketed events such as Kenny Loggins.
