Holden Arboretum Celebrates Trees All Weekend With Special Events & Activities

If you’re going to hold a Celebration of Trees in northeast Ohio, there’s no more appropriate place than Holden Arboretum, which calls itself “an outdoor living museum that promotes the beauty and importance of trees and other woody plants.”

Its inaugural Celebration of Trees will offer a weekend of family-friendly activities including guided tree climbing for kids, childrens’ crafts, chainsaw carving demos and the Great Lakes Timber Show with log rolling, axe-throwing, cross chainsaw cutting and more ­ kids, do NOT try this at home! Singer/songwriter Sam Sapp and Naturalist Sarah Matheny will perform their “Songs and Tails from the Woods” show. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Admission is $10 for non-member adults, $4 for kids ages 6-18. Members are free. The Murch Canopy Walk and Kalberer Emergent Tower will be open for an extra $4 for nonmembers adults $2 for kids 6-18.
