Got Fries With That? at the National Hamburger Festival in Akron

Sat 8/12 @ 12-11PM

Sun 8/13 @ 12-7PM

The very good reason the National Hamburger Festival takes place at Lock 3 in Akron (rather than, say, Hamburg) is a foodie legend that Akron natives Frank and Charles Menches invented the hamburger at the New York State Fair in 1885.

The National Hamburger Festival commemorates ground beef between two buns with 20 participating restaurants in competitive burger-making, a hamburger queen pageant, “bobbing for burgers,” plus live music, this year featuring a distinctly countrified flavor, with the stylings of Buck Naked, Shooter Sharp and Justin Fabus.

In addition, the Buckeye BrewFest, showcasing craft beer, happens all day Sunday. New this year is an “Akron Ninja Warrior” contest hosted by American Ninja Warrior contestant Patrick Hall.

Admission is $5 per day, children under 8 free.
