Telling Stories

It’s how we know we’re alive. We tell each other our secrets, our discoveries, our wishes, our nightmares. It’s why we need our artists. To find our stories wherever they are.

Walkabout in Tremont with classic cars, street entertainers and art. In Coventry Village, discover the free Pekar Park Comic Festival & Storytelling Evening. Up in Akron, learn to prepare quick meals with fresh ingredients at Hattie’s Food Hub. Down at the Q, hear the AP Music Awards. In Uptown at MOCA, see Liz Maugans’ Artist Trust project. Over in Ohio City, promote health & wellness with kids’ games. Down at the Music Box in the Flats, catch the return of Alexis Antes from Odd Girl Out. The stories are everywhere this week.

Outside at the Rock Hall, preview new original music and glam classics with Vanity Crash. Inside at Mahall’s in Lakewood, support Lady Parts Justice on their Vagical Mystery Tour. At Maple Lanes, get a dose of percussion, electronics and performance art. Up in Cleveland Hts, witness Dobama’s dual Israeli plays. Over in Painsville, participate in the largest free music fest in Ohio. And you through we were just telling stories. –Thomas Mulready
