Larchmere Porchfest Is Back With Free Music on 30 Porches

Sat 6/17 @2-10PM

If you’ve never been the Larchmere Porch Fest before, you should check it out. Now in its 9th year, it’s got a different vibe from most area festivals. The day-long event features 30 bands playing on 30 porches in the residential side streets that cross Larchmere Boulevard from 2-6pm.

Visitors can grab a schedule at one of the information booths on Larchmere and plan an itinerary. Bring a chair or blanket, lean on your bike or flop down on a lawn to check out bands whose styles include rock, reggae, blues, hip hop, folk, rockabilly, classical and even klezmer. Hear that band all your friends have been raving about or discover someone you’ve never heard of. You’ll probably stumble across a street musician or two taking advantage of the crowd cruising up and down the street, and plenty of the businesses on the street have things going on too.

Then at 6pm, everyone converges on one stage for the headliners. This year, they’re reggae band Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band and cinematic pop band the Modern Electric. Afterwards, many of the bars and restaurants keep the party going with free music — and of course, you’ll be ready for something to eat and drink. The festival is free.
