Go for a Train-ing Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine

Fri 5/26-Sun 5/28 @ 9AM-6PM

Spongebobs, Wiggles and Teletubbies may compete for the attention of youngsters, but the only one you can climb aboard is the British creation Thomas the Tank Engine.

The locomotive of kids’ books and PBS imports has a regular berth with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, and the 2017 editions of the popular Day Out With Thomas begin for both this weekend — Saturday and — and also Memorial Day weekend.

Children and parents can board Thomas the Tank Engine and meet other storybook friends, clowns and performers (and violently argue over who was the definitive Mr. Conductor, Ringo Starr, George Carlin or Alec Baldwin), while riding a full-scale railway through the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Rides themselves last 25 minutes and depart from Boston Mills. Tickets range from $18-22 depending on the day and can be purchased in advance by phone or online. A ticket is required for entry behind the gates, whether one intends to ride the train or not.
