Join the Kent State University Opera, with the Kent State University Orchestra, in KSU’s Ludwig Hall for their spring production — actually three productions in one.

Each concert will feature a student cast in three short operas, directed by assistant professor of voice Marla Berg, with musical direction by Jay White and Katherine Kilburn and Alexander Popovici conducting. They’ll perform Georges Bizet’s comic opera The Doctor Miracle and Marc Blitzstein’s spoof of Greek mythology The Harpies. They’ll also perform the world premiere of a new orchestration of Gisela In Her Bathtub, a comedic opera by Canadian composer Neil Weisensel and librettist Michael Cavanagh. Weisensel will come from Wiinipeg, where he’s based, to attend the performances.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and Kent State University faculty and staff, $8 for non-KSU students and free for full-time KSU undergrad and those under 18 and under with a reserved ticket.
