Fri 10/21 @ 8PM
Brooklyn-based jazz musicians Caroline Davis and Caili O’Doherty came together a couple of years ago to former the Davis O’Doherty Quartet. With saxophone player Davis emerging from the Chicago scene with a PhD from Northwestern University and keyboard player O’Doherty arriving from Oregon via Boston’s Berklee College of Music, the two are active as educators, performers and composers.
Each has released a solo album — O’Doherty released Padme, featuring none original pieces, in 2015; Davis released her debut Live Work and Play in 2012, followed by Doors: Chicago Storylines late last year.
They’ll perform with a quartet when they appear at the Bop Stop. Tickets are $15.
