Puente Viejo Taco & Tequila Bar opened in early 2017, adding another flavor to the kaleidescope of international eateries in Playhouse Square. Co-owner Rogelio Hernandez brings the traditional central Mexican dishes he grew up — the tacos, burritos and moles — on to Clevelanders, using old family recipes.
The large menu has all the Mexican favorites, with many variations on each. Quesidillas, fajitas, steak, chicken and seafood entrees, even soups, salads and desserts are among the wealth of offerings. The food’s enhanced with drink menu featuring cocktails, martinis, handcrafted margaritas, or if you insist, bottled beers. The sleek, slightly industrial décor makes this place more elegant than your average Mexican joint.
