Lake County lakefront town Fairport Harbor celebrates the tall ships and maritime culture with its Harbor Fest. It starts Thursday evening with an international fleet of nine ships sailing into town for the Parade of Sail.
Harborfest begins in earnest on Friday. Visitors can tour the ships and meet the crews as well as take boat trips and sails, enjoy music and other performers, shop art vendors and food trucks, and enjoy costumed actors recreating maritime history. Admission to the fairgrounds is $10; admission with boat tours in $15. Multiday passes are also available.
