Cleveland’s Dancing Wheels Company is celebrating a couple of anniversaries this year. The ensemble, which presents choreography for a “physically integrated” groups of wheelchair and “stand up” dancers, is 35 years old. And the Americans With Disabilities Act is 25.
The company’s “Lasting Legacy” program, which it’s performing this year, honors both these milestones. It will present excerpts from it in a matinee program at the Performing Arts Center at Chagrin Falls High School, presented by Chagrin Arts. In it, the company reflects on the five core themes of the ADA — employment, education, transportation, communication and public access — in pieces that explore their history, evolution and impact. Admission is $28 for preferred seating, $21 general admission, $5 for students 18 and under.
