Savor a Taste of Autumn @BeachlandCle & Support the @CoitFarmMarket

The nonprofit Coit Road Farmers Market, founded in 1932 but with roots stretching back to World War I, is Cleveland’s only year-round farmers market with its own dedicated building. It’s been through its ups and downs, and its East Cleveland neighborhood has seen more of the latter than the former. But in recent years, as more people are looking for fresh, local, seasonal foods, it’s been moving forward with vendors of all types of foods, including organic and gluten-free.

To help support itself (and maintaining that old building does cost money!), the market is hosting its annual Taste of Autumn benefit. There, food lovers will have a chance to taste some of the foods of the season at a local harvest buffet, put together by area chefs Melissa Khoury and Penny Barend of Saucisson, Ryan Cipriani of Angela-Mia Pizza, Anna Harouvis of Anna in the Raw, John Bausone of Forest Hill Kitchen, Steve Sabo of Orange Truk, Alfio Pinzone of Pranzo, Tino Enriquez Vegan Chef at Large and personal chef Lisa Pucci Delgado.

There will also be drinks, music from Bert Dennis and friends and prizes. It takes place at the Beachland Ballroom. Tickets are $35.

The market is open every Saturday from 8am-1pm, and April-November on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. Stop in!
