The Modern Electric has been teasing us since the beginning of the year with monthly videos of tracks from their upcoming album Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, an appropriate album title for a band who describe their momentously melodic music as “cinematic pop.”
That album is due to drop in August, and it can’t happen a minute too soon for the popular Cleveland band’s avid following — their last (and only) album came out six years ago when the then-teenage band was just a year past winning the 2008 High School Rock Off. And obviously, they’ve matured a lot since then.
Luckily, those local fans can get a sneak review. The band will be playing an early CD release show at the Beachland Ballroom where fans can not only hear the band live but also pick up an advance copy of the album. Jivviden and Captain Kidd open.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
