Rocky River

Built on the edge of a crag just west of Cleveland, where the Rocky River meets Lake Erie, the suburb of Rocky River has emerged as a family-oriented community that has a lot to offer visitors.

Rocky River is packed with unique specialty shops that feature clothing, toys, distinctive home furnishings, and even surfing gear. And if all this shopping makes you hungry, Rocky River is full of places to recharge, including cozy cafes, popular pizza parlors, retro diners, hip bistros and ethnic restaurants. Libations abound in Rocky River with welcoming taverns, elegant cocktail and wine bars, and casual beer gardens. And when you are ready for dessert, the city has its share of sweet shops with ice cream parlors, cake shops and bakeries.

The city also has recreation options that draw people to the town. They include an ice skating rink, a municipal poor and beautiful lakefront parks. Come to look and you may decide to settle down.

  1. We drive 2-3 times per week from bay village to rocky river for this FABULOUS music school that draws from the entire west side. It has quite literally changed our 13 year olds life! Watching kids (ranging from 8 to 18) perform at their end-of-semester rock and roll “recitals” at real venues – like Brothers Lounge or Music Box Supper Club – is absolutely awesome! Contact the manager of the River school – Louie Novotny for more info. Owner is a Bay Village resident. There are also schools in Highland Heights and Strongsville.
