Ohio City Pizzeria

In July 2019 Ohio City Pizzeria reopened with a new mission. Owned and operated by the nearby West Side Catholic Center, it provides employment to the agency’s clients while offering affordable lunches and dinner. It’s overseen by the team from EDWINS, whose experience is in training returning felons in high-end food service. And money made at the restaurant goes to the nonprofit’s client services.

Ohio City Pizzeria is much more casual, offering pizzas, calzones, pastas, sandwiches and extras such as garlic bread, fried mozzarella and chicken wings. The menu also includes a handful of classic Italian entrees such as osso buco, chicken cacciatore and veal marsala. Wines by the glass, beers and cocktails, along with finishers — desserts, coffee, dessert wines and apertifs — make this a place to have a traditional Little Italy-style meal on the near west side.
