When Rockefeller’s in Cleveland Heights closed up shop in 2015, chef Jill Vedaa moved on to the Flying Fig, Lola, Black Pig, and KeKa for short stints. But she seized the chance to open her own slot, and in early 2016 she and partner/sommelier Jessica Parkison took over the Pug Mahone’s location in Lakewood which closed about the same time Rockefeller’s did.

They opened Salt in July 2016 after remodeling the interior to focus less on the bar and more on the food — mostly small plates with a Mediterranean influence and seasonal ingredients. But specialty cocktails, which also change with the seasons, and unique wine choices, are part of the experience.
