Ohio City Galley, which occupies the former Massimo da Milano space at the western end of the Detroit-Superior Bridge, brought a new concept to town, a twist on the old incubator idea. Calling itself a “food hall and restaurant accelerator,” it features four start-up chef-owners operate under one roof rent-free for a limited period of time. They pay a percentage of their income for services such as maintenance, marketing and utilities to Ohio City Galley, which also works to help them build their brands and business plans to move on to their own spaces.
Currently it’s home to Pie 2, Grains and Greens, Sauce the City and, the Burger Shop. Food is served 11am-9pm seven days a week, but the bar is open until 10pm Monday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, serving an extensive craft cocktail menu, two dozen local craft beers on tap and a short wine list.
