Cleveland indie/art rockers Polars, which revolves around songwriters Kurt Eyman and Justin Miller, are a relatively new band on the local music scene. The duo launched the band with their debut EP Into the Pines in 2015. For their they began first full-length Native Carbon Bloom, they began working with orchestrator/composer Etienne Massicotte to flesh out the tunes with string, brass and woodwind arrangements, recording in studios in Cleveland, New York and Toronto utilizing more than two dozen classical musicians from various orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra.
The album is now scheduled for release at a show at the Beachland Ballroom which most likely will feature some additional musicians, although probably not two dozen! Poro and Mimi Arden round out the bill. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show.
