Mulberry Creek Herb Farm Celebrates Food Grown & Produced in NE Ohio

Sat 9/28 @ 10:30AM

Sun 9/29 @ 12:30PM

Peak harvest season around these parts runs through August and September when the bounty of farm and garden is overflowing. That’s clearly why Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, the family-owned, organic herb farm in Huron, is holding a two-day food & wine weekend now, featuring offerings from local growers and producers.

Through both days there’ll be classes, tastings and workshops, taking place in the greenhouses, barn and pavilion. Start on Saturday @ 10:30am with Storm Mountain Coffee Roasters’ iced coffee tasting and recipes. Then learn all about the various types of apples, how they are grown and how they are used from Brooke Gammie of Quarryhill Orchard, less than 10 miles up the road. Learn to grow garlic (planting season is coming up in October!), how to pair wines with food and the art of bread-making, and take a class in the movement/meditation practice of Qi Gong.

On Sunday, there’ll be live music from the 50s-70s by Don and Chrissy’s Concert, and classes in herbal wellness, microgreens, cooking tips, growing garlic (remember: October! And there will be a vendor of seed garlic with different types available) and more Qi Gong.

There’ll be representatives of lots of local food producers onsite so of course lots of food will be available, ranging from gourmet popcorn to pizza, to items to take home such as tomatoes, honey and liquor-laced chocolates.

Admission is $3 per person, which includes all classes.
