Two Authors Focused on LGBTQ Issues Talk at Mac’s Backs on Coventry

Tue 7/10 @ 7PM

There are millions of stories out there about the lives led by LGBTQ people, and it’s only in recent years that they have been tumbling out in waves, eager to escape the silence and secrecy of the closet.

Lisa Gitlin wrote Postcards from the Canyon about a gay, Jewish novelist dealing with chaos in her life following the death of her mother. She begins writing about her Cleveland childhood to explore the unresolved issues in her life and finds herself in the middle of a maelstrom.

Comedian/writer/broadcaster/Baldwin-Wallace associate professor Ken Schneck recently released LGBTQ Cleveland, a photo-based book that maps the nooks and crannies of Cleveland’s LGBTQ scene over the last 40-plus years.

Both authors will be at Mac’s Backs in Cleveland Heights’ Coventry Village to talk about their books and sign them. It’s free and open to all open-minded people.
