convergence-continuum Presents Suzan-Lori Parks’ “In The Blood”

Fri 5/18-Sat 6/9 @ 8PM

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks’ 1999 play In the Blood is roughly based on that Nathaniel Hawthorne novel The Scarlet Letter, which most of us read in high school.

The idea of an unmarried woman ostracized for becoming pregnant may seem quaint today, but Parks’ Hester is a homeless mother of five living on city streets. In it five actors play the kids, as well as the adults who makes her life miserable.

Tremont’s convergence-continuum theater is now tackling the pay, directed by Cory Molner with Jeannine Gaskin, Daryl Kelley, Anthony X, Shannon Sharkey, Grace Mitri and Patrick Gladish comprising the case. It will run Thursdays through Saturdays @ 8pm at cc’s home, the Liminis, through Sat 6/9. Tickets are $8-$20.
