ArtistBooks

Sat 4/15 @ 3PM

One of the many manifestations of this year’s Cuban artist exchange spearheaded by the Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion program is a collaboration with Collective Arts Network, Literary Cleveland and Waterloo Arts. Artist books from a small artisanal press Ediciones Vigia in Mantanzas, Cuba, are currently of display at Waterloo Arts in From the San Juan to the Cuyahoga: Artist Books of Ediciones Vigia.

Today Waterloo Arts is hosting a panel about artist-designed small press books. It will include writer Laura Ruíz Montes, editor of Ediciones Vigia, local collaborator Damaris Puñales Alpizar of Case Western Reserve University, CAN Journal editor Michael Gill and Cleveland small press publisher RA Washington. The discussion will be in English and Spanish. The books will be on view during the panel and remain on view through 5/19. It’s free and open to all.
