Songwriters in the round events offer audiences a different perspective on their favorite songwriters, adding some insight into their process and the meaning behind some of their tunes.
Come to Nighttown and enjoy an evening with three songwriters in very different styles. Carlos Jones has been a mainstay of the Cleveland reggae scene for almost four decades, and his P.L.U.S. Band draws record crowds to summer events for their upbeat music. Jen Maurer leads the lively Akron-based zydeco party band Mo’Mojo and does solo gigs as the Jen Maurer Band. And Michael Rotman has recorded his own tunes as a singer/songwriter and plays in family-friendly jam-style band Big Ship with former Waterband frontman Dreadlock Dave McDougald.
