Thu 2/9 @ 6:30-9PM

HEDGE Gallery’s next show, Palettes for the Sense: Art + Scent Demystified, has a really intriguing premise. It features new works in various media by 11 HEDGE-represented artists, each of which is paired with a scene created by Ann Onusko Bouterse, owner of Lakewood’s Indigo Perfumery. Each installation will have a viewing/smelling station where visitors can lift a glass dome to experience the scent while looking at the art. Artists include Rebecca Cross, Matthew Gallagher, Meghann Hennan, Christopher Kier, David Master, Liz Maugans, Brian Mouhlas, Jessica Pinksy, Katy Richards, Dott Von Schneider and Nikki Woods.

The show opens Fri 3/17 @ 5-9pm during 78th Street Studios Third Friday and runs through 3/3. However, if you want to get a jump on everyone else and be among the first to experience this multi-sensory show and avoid the crowds sure to be there on Third Friday, there’s a preview party at the gallery tonight. Bouterse will be on hand to take about how she chose and created the scents for each work; there will also be Infusion cocktails and appetizers from Luxe Kitchen & Lounge. Tickets are $15.
