The seven-member Skipper’s Alley, based in Dublin, are a youthful act in the crowded field of Irish music, which always seems eager to embrace more comers.
Formed less than five years ago, the group incorporates such instruments as fiddle, flute, Uilleann pipes, whistles and bodhrán into a sound that’s both traditional and modern as they play what they call “gritty high-octane Irish dance tunes.”
They released their self-titled debut album in 2014, and are currently on the road whetting appetites for their second release, due out by the end of the year. They’ll be making a stop at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge. Tickets are $21, $17 for CVNP Conservancy members, and $10 for students.
