Buy Lo

And sell hi. That’s the only way to get ahead, and that’s probably good advice both in the market these days, as well as in your community. If you believe in this region, now would be a very good time to invest and buy local. We help you find the good local stuff this week with a feature on the Rowdy Craft Fair in Akron, a preview of OldBoy coming up at the Grog, and pointers to cool local events like the Mid West Reggae Fest, Akron’s University Park Art Fair & Food Fest, Walk + Roll in Slavic Village, and CPH’s Happy Hour. Plus read about a side trip to the eco-friendly Finger Lakes and other fun stuff for kids & families. And now, you can get it all on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with our new mobile app. And to get that, you don’t even have to buy anything. –Thomas Mulready

Last Thu 8/4, local band OldBoy kicked off a Summer Music & Movie series event held in Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park. It may not have been OldBoy’s typical crowd, but its members serenaded parents, teens and 2-4 year-olds in stride… Read more from Laurie Wanninger here

Even those of us who have always voted Republican (ahem, me and mine) are aghast at the Republican Party, the Tea Party and what they are doing to the quality of the nation we live in.
